I have a redirecting link that's currenlty ranked in the #7 spot for a great keyword for my site. But, it's because of the content of the url before I had it redirect to the current site. Will it start to slide down the list or how long do you think I could hold the current ranking?

Also, I currently have it set to mask the destination url with the redirecting link. What are the pro/cons of doing that? It's just a freeweb site.

What do you mean by redirecting link? A website with redirect?

If so, right now for google it is a door way and it will soon drop from SE ranking.

Yes, i have a url that redirects to my actual website. This url was a one page website at one time and made it all the way to #7 on Yahoo, I'm not sure where it is on Google.
