Ok here is my really dumb question, First off, I tried google to find the answer and no luck. does alexa count all visits of a domain or just the domain page only? Example lets say everyone visits www.yourdomain.com/games and they always went to the sub dir of games to play games for example but never ever visit www.yourdomain.com does all those hits/unique vistors count towards www.yourdomain.com or is it all wasted traffic? honestly i have no clue :'( KIND REGARDS. Subdomains will count as different stats for some Statistics software, but I dunno about how Alexa counts it. I think its the whole domain.
I think Alexa counts all the visits in the subdomain together, otherwise Alexa will have different statistics for subdomains , but i think they do not have that. So we can conclude that all the visits count.
My Guess is That it counts all visits to sub dir/domains, otherwise DP Forums wouldn't have had this rank
Confirmed. The subdomains and addon domains all count as the same domain for traffic ranking. Confirmed through domains on my own site staying at the same Alexa ranking overall. Good thing about giving friends some free hosting on an addon domain. You get traffic for it, which helps boost your alexa rank if they have the toolbar installed. However all traffic counts anyways as my main site link is on it etc.
