I have a question about Transfer to a new domain

I want to transfer my dating site and its blog to a new domain. The old site has some back links and the new domain does not have any.

Should I use 301 redirect from old domain to new domain?

    or

should I create some links from old domain and point to new domain?

Which method is good for SEO?

    Thanks very much!

301 for sure. When in doubt, 301.

A new page with the old page 301 redirected: The new page will get the backlink credit from the old page, will regularly have search engine rankings much faster, and will give old-page users a better experience.

I would go with 1st option because it transfer all the redirect to the new domain.

On the other hand, with the second option , you have to maintain two sites... Moreover you will have build reputation for new domain as well.

You can use 301 redirects for that. It is way better of course than creating a new one. Anyway, all the juices on the old site will be transferred to the new one when you try to redirect to it.

As per me, you should do 301 redirect or redirect through htaccess method. This way you will loose very low domain authority and it will get transferred to new domain.

Exactly, the first option is better, after you 301 redirect from the old domain to the new domain, all the SEO value will flow to the new site. You need not go to the second option.

You should use 301 redirection to transfer the amount of traffic from previous site to new one.

You should use 301 redirect because 301 redirects are used to move permanently a site to a new location so your old domain will move to your new domain.

The most useful would be a 301 redirect with .htaccess
