i have a question about ram .. upgradation

    friends i have ram 1 gb ddr2 and power is 667mhz , and now i want to add one more slot.. so now in market i think we get 800 power ram so will there be any problem when i have one 667 power ram and i add another with 800 power ram ..

    my ram company is transend...

    If your motherboard supports up to 800mhz speed, thats 1 thing you have to consider. Also the ram with slower speed willl kinda pull down the other one with higher. It will then be clocked to 667mhz for both, even if the other one is 800mhz. I'm not sure if there are tweaks for this. Also it's not advised to have different ram clock speeds, they should be the same. :)

    With RAM prices being so low why not just swap out the old stuff and get a matched pair for better performance and stability.
