I'm pretty sure this "AdSense" forum is the right section to post this and I did search but came up empty. Hey guys I have a question about my ads on www.gifninja.com Does the "ads by google" have to be black? If it has to be black do you think I would get a better click through ratio if I changed all of the rest of my text to match it? I'm pretty sure this "AdSense" forum is the right section to post this and I did search but came up empty.
Sorry to tell you this, but the ads by google link will always contrast with whatever the border colour is. If we could we would blend it better, but google is scared of people trying to hide the ads by google text (you could theoretically, if the background and the text were the same colour).
I'm ok with it contrasting the background. What I'm wondering is can I make it match the color of the ads themselves? or can I make the ads themselves match the "ads by google"? If I could do that I would make the left border text also match the black..
The "ads by google" is typically at the top or bottom of the ad block. From my experience, you can place your ad block in such a way that the surrounding content text of the website butts up next to it and well...camoflauges it. Especially if the font size of the surrounding content text of your website is the same size as the "ads by google" font size. You can never hide it, but you can obscure it by placing your ad block near surrounding text. There's no way of knowing if this helps with CTR, but I think it does.
