Hello. I have noticed something weird the past days. I have some links from DP forum from my signature. From what I know they are dofollow. But when I check with Open site explorer they show as no-follow. Can somebody explain me what happens. Is the dp signature no-follow? When I check with the firefox plugin they show as dofollow. Ho to belive, Open site explorer or firefox?
They're dofollow. You can check it manually by viewing the page source if you want: Notice there is not a nofollow attribute on that link.
Yes. But why does open site explorer show that they are no-follow. Is this a missurderstanding or what
Maybe Open site explorer is wrong. I`m waiting for yahoo site explorer to index my links to see if they are do-follow. I read like 20 theats regarding dp signature saying that is dofollow. But ...
The quote that I have is from the page source of this very page. If a link does not specifically have the nofollow attribute tied to it then it is dofollow. As you can see your link in your signature does not so therefore it is a dofollow link, doesn't matter what any other place says.
Most of the seo and marketing (webmaster) forums are having do-follow signature links. That is the reason these forums have lot of users on their sites. However if you compare these signature links to the normal links placed on any high authority sites, then they are not so much worthy. As compared to other high rated sites these signature links have less value and gives you less importance for your backlink plan. Yes all of them are do-follow, but you have to be smart enough to post your comments at a proper time and at a most visited thread. As per my experience, I can say that firefox add-on SEO-quake does show accurate result for all the do-follow and no-follow links at some extent.
I think you need to check your browser settings. If you have changed any default settings in your browser then it may show wrong and also check the antivirus utility that integrated with browser.
