I sold a product to a guy in Puerto Rico via ebay. I discovered the product was damaged prior to shipping and have refunded the money to they buyer. He doesn't speak much English and has only used Ebay and Paypal this one time, but I can't get him to log into his Paypal account and click on the "Claim" payment button. He c Now he's sending me emails in broken english saying that I"m taking his money and he wants me to call him at some Puerto Rico phone number. I've tried explaining it to him in English and my lousy spanish via email, but it's not getting through. He won't "Claim" my refund. Paypal won't respond to me either. Should I just send this guy a money order or something and forget about using Paypal for this. I'm no Ebay or Paypal rookie. I've just never had this kind of problem before.
come on ... he doesn't know where the claim button is ? it's not that difficult why doesn't he phone you ?
Why doesn't PayPal let you send the money directly? See, this is why I now have hatred towards them. First, they force you to use PayPal as the only payment processor, now their customer service is very weird.
Yeah tried that too...that was my last attempt. Any idiot knows how to go in and accept a payment...so I'm not sure what the problem is. My spoken spanish is horrible, so discussing this on the phone with him is not a good option.
I'd say use western union if it's not too big an amount, the customer will get the money in 15 min and you'd be assured that all went well. With money order, you might keep wondering for days if that reached the customer or not!
