I have a PR6 forum for the first time in my life, the traffic itself is quite good, 6000-9000 visitors a day (75% from search engine). However, Im confuse what can I do with the benefit of this PR6 status? Should I put some kind of contest to pump up activity like those who post the most would get his URL on my forum homepage considering my homepage HAS NO OUTBOUND LINK and it's PR6? Or would I need to sell link in homepage (limited spot like 2-3)? Or should I let people put their dofollow link in the thread page if they submit unique article? Or how?
What i would do is. Maybe sell 1-3 links if you really want to earn the money or just try to put ads on it like a banner. It's also a good idea to give your members a dofollow link in their post, this would bump up the activity on your forum for sure. But it will also give you a lower rank the next pr update probably.
For a PR6 I'd say focus on getting your activity soaring From there you can sell ad space Then you could start a higher paid membership If you are that high with no outbound links that's good and you should rock with it, You can advertise to some serious players that your forum is the perfect place to get their word out. with that many daily visitors I promise you people will be fighting eachother to get that kind of exposure.
i think RJLandsdown has just said everything but as he said you really need to get some good activity on the forum then advertisers will come to you
With that kind of page rank and traffic I would try to find a few compatible affiliate programs and then rotate some banner ads through the site. That should generate some good income for you.
1. You can sell 1-2 links on the main page. 2. You can search a bigger website/company, and ask them if they would like to be your site's sponsor for a period of time. 3. Affiliate links. 4. If you have some pages with higher PR, you can sell links on them, too.
Try making an exclusive part of the forum where only premium paying members can go to, of course it might not work depending on the niche you are in. And try selling ad space to advertisers, man with that much traffic you shouldn't have any problem getting people to pay you to put their website on your forum.
You could probably sell some related links on the home page - depending on your niche. With PR 6, you should be ranking pretty good in the search engines, so finding some advertisers should not be a problem.
What you've achieved is pretty impressive as you've overcome the stage most people fail to get past. You might want to considering selling it, whilst everything is good. If you have a format that works, you can use this to start another forum in a different niche and attract visitors in the same way.
Try to find commercial companies related to your forum niche. Ask them if they want exposure on your site backed up by your visitor stats and whatnot.
Monetize it with adsense, until you get some sponsors in your niche. You may be surprised at the amount you'll earn.
Definitely sell some links. Even if you use a service such as; Text-Link-Ads, you are still going to make a good amount of money. Some of your other site pages may be of a high PR, look into selling links on those pages too. I would also reserve maybe a footer link or two for the Users. Make a contest where the person with the largest amount of monthly posts will get the link space.
Sell ad space (both standard and premium ad), also monetize with adsense. May be you may consider selling text links, just limit it to 5-10 links as overdo it may raise redflag to Google.
