Hi I own a mad network of fishing related sites : We have www.ourfishingphotos.com / www.ourfishingdirectory.com / www.ourfishinggroup.com / www.ourfishingboats.com Need some tips for marketing. The photos site is getting anywhere between 200-400 page views per day, same as the directory, these are new sites and are slowly progressing in the right direction. The one that is proving a nightmare is ourfishingboats.com - I think it is a great and attractive site. I don't want to use PPC programs until I have boats advertised on there. How can i get boat owners to start advertising their boats? I think once a few are added in each category we will progress and people will add more but to get the first few is proving difficult. It is even a free service for people to use!
Yes, looks nice. I guess you need to contact some boat owners, either through adverts in boating/fishing forums/magazines etc or perhaps local boatyards. Once you get the ball rolling, it will probably get easier.
You could try writing fishing related articles and submitting them to Google favored www.ezinearticles.com. If you use the keyword you want to appear in the SERPs for within your article 4-5 times your article will make into the index, thus driving more traffic.
What I have done over the last few days is contact boat brokers with the offer of advetising their boats for free - I would even do the listing work for them, once I have about 50 boats advertised I will do a big adwords campaign.
