I have a idea

Hello all, if this is the wrong place for this thread, please move it mods, but I believe it is correct :)

OK I wanted to know what you all thought, I have a PR5 domain name. I was wondering if set it up so that you could have a /folder/ on the URL and replace folder with whatever you want, you could have your own website of sort.

If I did that, I could easily get those sections to be high Pr's as well, if I did that, should I try and sell that service, or give it out for free and just require my link on it?

    Please let me know thanks!

Yeah, wordpress.com has a pretty decent PR and does exactly this (with subdomains though). They do it for free.

Well, see I would be filtering them, they would have to be set aside for a proper use. That is why I thought of selling them, only those who really wanted it would have it then.

The new folder would attain a PR value, as long as links occur to the new pages.

It would :) And that PR would be just as strong as the homepage correct?

Is your domain generic? IT would help if your domain was usable fro everyone.

Usually i never see a folder have the same PR as the homepage PR, but they are usually not far behind as long as your PR is strong. If I were you I would offer this service free now since it is a PR5, and if this goes up to 6 or 7 then consider charging for files.

Hmm, well the site it would be on is a very strong PR5 with several hundred backlinks, and the name makes sense for what it would be doing really. HMM, well thanks all!

No the subfolder doesn't automatically have the same PR and no several hundred backlinks are not a very strong PR5.
I have a site that has been PR5 for ages and has over 10k backlinks.
Somewhere there is a matrix (I don't have the url) that shows how many backlinks on average you need for a certain PR.

Yeah, well you can have a very strong PR if all the back links are PR4 5 and 6s :)

Yeah, but do you really know if it is strong?
These days, I see a lot of people claiming to have a strong PR something which is just plain silly.
Whats the pagestrength? Go to seomoz and find out. If it is above 5 then we are talking.
There is no such thing as strong PR. I have never seen it mentioned from google. Thats some marketing thing forum members made up to make it sound better for potential link buyers and you are just following suit.

So I still don't understand what a strong PR5 is.

Does this mean its even stronger? I don't know.

Could be, remember though each niche has a different strength need for different reasons. But we will see :) thanks all for your input!
