I have a HIGH CTR website in a high paying niche - how to monetize?

Here is my story. My site used to rank very well for some very competitive keywords. Now, it's not there for a reasons only God knows. Anyways, I was thinking that all I need is traffic to monetize my website. If it's not natural traffic then I can perhaps monetize my site using PPC.

The issue is that my site's in a very competitive niche, one that pays well too. If I start an AdWords compaign, there is a good chance that I will end up paying more than earning back. Now, I need ideas on how to get traffic. Please remember I am not talking about SEO. It's the traffic that I want. I am totally fine with a link with rel=nofollow. I only want the traffic so it could convert very well.

My site has had a constant above 40% CTR for a year or so but it of course changed when the traffic started to suffer. I am guessing that it should work well for me if I can get good amount of traffic.

I am planning to advertise my site on sites with huge traffic. Is it a good option? Should I only advertise on sites related to my niche? Or other sites like Daily News website etc will convert well too?

    Regards
    Sam

I need more ideas, suggestions. This is kinda urgent so your quick replies would be HIGHLY appreciated! :)

To know better we should first know your sites but certainly you have great reasons not to share.

Without more details, one could say that you could advertise or post links on other sites that have the same demographics and/or interests of the visitors to your site. The more traffic those websites have the better, but the cost would be higher too. Just don't go for the traffic alone.

Regarding advertising on PPC - AdWords, Yahoo or MSN - you could also do the same, target demographics instead of keywords, so the cost would have greater chances to be lower and thus cost effective.

If you think I can help you, send me a PM, and I can see what else I could suggest you.

No, I am not going to charge you for that, I had a similar problem recently.

Use longtail keywords and get a voucher (try tracking202.com/resources) and get a free $100 in credits so you can test the waters to see if it will work.

Actually, I tried to find more info related to Vouchers but couldn't really find a helpful resource. I believe I could learn a lot from first hand experience from people like you. Could you guys please tell me a bit more about Vouchers?

    The problem is simply... traffic.

As he stated, he lost all his serps.

In my case I would, in a first step, be more interested in knowing why I lost my serps.

Maybe it is something doable, to get back on serp, and you would save a lot from not having to advertise on PPC or such.

If you already have a good site, white hat and useful info, chances are you can get it back on serps. And get your traffic back.
