I have a good understanding of keywords but building links to my site via Squidoo, hubpages and so on but am not sure of tags. How do tags help with Squidoo and Hubpages? Does it make any difference how many tags you have. Do I just think of tags or is there software of anyway tag research can be done like keyword research can be done. Is this the same for my blog on blogger and wordpress.
Tags link related lenses, hubs, blog posts together. Usually, a page is created for each tag showing all the lenses, hubs or posts that use it. This means the more tags you specify, the more links you will get pointing back to your page. This can help get your page ranked higher. It's best to think of all the 1, 2 and 3 word tags that are directly related to your content. For example: widgets, blue widgets, best widgets, widget review.
Tags are still helpful with Hub pages as far as I know but tags are pretty much useless as far as I have come to find out for Squidoo. That's based on my own reasearch. To find tags for your Hub pages on Google enter the following in the search box: site:hubpages.com KEYWORD "Hot Hubs" Just replace KEYWORD with whatever you are trying to target. When you get the results back, the titles of the results that come back are the tags you want. this will give you immediate traffic by being listed in hot hubs with hubs that are already indexed in google. This is best done if you create hubs in sets of 3-5 Hope that helps, Ken
Squidoo allows you to put in a maximum 40 tags for each lens. I would recommend you to fully utilize the tags quota, to give more backlinks to your lens. Each tags will give your lens a backlink.
