I have a few questions regarding links

I have a few questions to link building.

    1) With article submission, how long do you have that link coming back to your site for?
    2) Do links on crappy websites do harm for your site, or are they still considered a link?

    1. Depends on the Article directory, also depends if you build backlinks to your article.
    2. A link is a link. If it's on a crappy site then the value is just not that great.

Form my experience, my Ezine articles have always stayed. however, it depends if you are using your article for traffic or just a backlink. If you are using it for traffic then it would have to be a keyword targeted article, you then would have to build backlinks to it using the keyword as the anchor text. If you are just using it as a backlink then the anchor text of the backlink linking to your article would not matter.

Regardless, it is always best to backlink to your articles so that you get more linkjuice from your Article. This is especially true for Ezine articles because they carry so much link weight with Google.

Honestly, an Ezine article will react like any other web property. If you build backlinks to it, it will maintain it's ranking or even increase.

yes i agree, but i am only talking about 1 article on Ezine, not the whole website. Articles in my niche that I have been building backlinks to are still ranking well. If your Ezine Article is unique then it can still rank well with proper backlinking.

I would like to answer your second question. Yes a link on a crappy website is still a link, but why would you want to put a link there if it doesn't have any value. There are a lot of people out there who do this, but there isn't any positive worth. If any worth at all, it's negative. Google doesn't simply count the # of links, but is now looking for quality. They are trying to level the playing field for people who are a trying to place valuable/relevant links vs. those who are simply out there spamming. After all, why should they be competing for the same rank?

Because that crappy link could bring in hundeds of visitors over time, which is a little helpful. Also, I see you are from Northeast Ohio. Where from, cause I live there too. =)

Yes, but it could also be penalized in the SERPs, which would then detract from the # of visitors that come.

I've seen a lot of discussion about Google Panda update, just wanted to share my 2 cents.

Panda update has definitely outclassed Ezine on SERPs; BUT Ezine still is a great place to get quality backlinks for websites. I believe, OP was asking about getting an approve backlink from an article directory, not asking to be seen on SERPs via that backlink. I believe quality backlinks are still worthy!

Crappy websites will only harm you unless you are playing with the fire. Don't submit your site to irrelevant and spammy content sites with no authority and no coverage in search engines.

I am interested to answer for your second question. links in crappy websites. If those websites that are called crappy has high PR and if you place links on them I am sure you would fetch we good place in search engines. I do offer paid link building in 700 and above high PR websites for my clients. Most of them have good results in google search results for keyword searches. So find a reputed vendor who never removes link after getting money. I am sure if you place links in PR6 websites you can get good rankings also. Thank you.

You're right with your list here but this does not affect with GoArticles and the other high PR articles that aren't mentioned here. :)

    1. If possible so try to submit unique articles in each directories. I observed that: many SEOs are submit single content to multiple directories without change Title. Does it make any sense? No, If I search any keyword & find out top 10 result with same content. I will be irritate.

    2. What is your definition to define crappy website?
