Not so much about the brotherhood of man, although that would be nice as well. I want a huge portion of all possible internet traffic related to China for the English language. . . . Actually, I want every keyword related to East Asia, but that will take me some time. Towards that end, I scrapped (not scraped!) my entire WH content network a few months ago. Everything that was already indexed was deleted. Many domains were sold off, and many were allowed to expire. I've been focusing exclusively on a handful of sites to start out with . . . I have one of the easier ones more or less finished, and I want honest and even cruel opinions on what you like, what could be better, what you hate, and so on. The site is Analects.Org . . . I intentionally left the landing page very simple. Inside, there's a highly hacked joomla install, and a good bit of content. The site is very social, and has user profiles similar to myspace or facebook or something, where you can leave comments on peoples profiles, add extra photos, blah blah. This is the first site I am making public in the forthcoming network, which right now will be: Analects.Org - Confucianism Wudangquan.Com - Taoism and Taoist martial arts BookOfFiveRings.Net/Org - Musahi's book of 5 rings, Bushido, Samurai stuff, Japanese history, etc. Combative.Org - I'll try in futility to go after Shoemoney and fighter.com with this one . . Vajrayana.US - Tibetan Buddhism in America TaiChiJourney.Com - Something related to Tai Chi, obviously Falun-Gong.Org - An unbiased news site about this religious movement from China And a secondary network which will include: waterboxing.org - a martial art called Liu He Ba Fa or waterboxing dynastyswords.com - something about chinese swords and fencing surgerythailand.com - medical tourism in Asia, and specifically Thailand spiritualmartialarts.com - some stuff about Aikido, Tai Chi, etc. LesbianAsian.Org/Net - uhhh, yeah. Kungfumoviedo.com - Martial arts and wuxia movie reviews And maybe I'll make a store or sell a product on goodtao.com (.net/org/info) Anyway . . . I would like peoples opinions on the layout and design, content, features, seo, and so on of analects before I start wrapping up some of the other domains I've got going on the burners . . . After I get some feedback, I'm going to finish up analects, wudangquan, bookoffiverings and combative, then hit the secondary network. And then get some more domains.
Oh, I forgot to add . . . The reason I am going after the philosophical stuff first, is because that's where I'll have my best luck in getting high quality backlinks and gaining some leverage for more money oriented projects down the road . . .
You say Joomla, but your site says Mambo. The landing page could be cleaner looking and still remain simple. A minimalistic design does not exclude you from using CSS. In regards to the actual page, the text in the header could really use some anti-aliasing. Other than that, looks good. I like the green.
Im not a fan of the black background and brown content *blush* is just not my taste. The header/logo looks very nice tho to the theme, if you were to keep this layout/color scheme
