I have 4,700 friends on personal Facebook page, but . . . .

I post personal images I try to promote via embedding my URL into images, share URL's via the sharing tools in my website (via my signature) and even though I have 4,700 friends, it does not drive more traffic to my URL (in my signature). I have also tried a "business page" but have very few likes / followers (even use Co-Promote) but get ZERO. Should I dump Facebook completely? It seems useless but always hear so much about how valuable it is. Really, it drives nothing for my site.......I'd post links but notice no promotion is allowed here so am asking for thoughts on what you think of FB. I abandoned it for a year although I did not delete or close down my account, but am seriously questioning it's value. I waste WAY TOO MUCH time there.

How many of the 4700 will see he feed? probably just a few that's it. It's like twitter you can have 100K followers but only a few see what you post not 100K.

Georgoie: can I add friends FROM CartoonNetwork page to my http://www.facebook.com/cartoonsforlicensing page?
HypreFree: This is the basis of my questioning then, if Facebook is soi useful and popular and helpful? Then why bother using it?

Well it can work but 99% think it's so powerful and give it more power then it has. The real power is the direct marketing some people are making a fortune when used right, but the assumption that you have a billion people and just post is wrong. I can be done but IT'S NOT EASY!

My biggest concern is that you could lose access to your fb account if they ever decide to make you do the photo security test because you won't be able to pick out your friends in a lineup.

I'd start inviting your "friends" to the page, posting only on the page but sharing back to your account - you won't get everyone to cross over but you'll get some. If people like your page and aren't actual friends (you'll see on the mutual friends panel) then unfriend them so they don't get doubled up content.

I'd also recommend going to instagram and pinterest - they do better with graphics.

Try getting engagement on your post.
I mean don't post anything for the sake of just posting regularly.
Think of something that will make them notice you. And don't forget to use hashtags on your posts.
If you make people engage on your post then I believe that it will most likely stay on the feed.
