Well, if the newsletter is about employment within the IT industry, then I would be tempted to contact some employment agencies or major IT companies in India to advertise jobs, or their employment agency.

I'm not sure though how you would go proving that you have 300k subscribers though, as they would want to see some evidence that this is the case.

They registered through 2 of my major portals. Well known sites to nearly 2 million job seekers & employees in India. I use Google analytics for traffic stats. My major portal gets 7 k unique users and more than 1 million page views per month. I do not believe in Alexa rank but my daily average Alexa rank is about 24k.

I am hosting my newsletter at one of the reputed ezine hosting company.

If we want to contact few companies directly regarding advertisements, What are the details or proofs we need to provide them?

Good question and to be perfectly honest I don't know. Maybe give them one issue with a discount, and they will see traffic appear with 300k subscribers reading the newsletter.

Once you've built up a few testimonials, you'll have no problem getting people interested.

You can sell advertising space on your Newsletter, that is almost about it. You can also make people pay you for links and references maybe? Recommendation articles possibly as well. Also put adsense on all of your web pages that are linked to from the newsletter itself.

Since everyone has cover the advertiser suggestion, here's something different...

Using demographic information about your list members (I am assuming you have some), start looking for service that you can provide for those members. For example... if you are in the IT jobs industry, and you have that many subscribers, why not use the newsletter to market your own new services? I would create my own version of a "Hot Jobs" or "Monster", specifically for the Indian IT industry.

Next, how about a financial service? Your members are likely upwardly mobile and will want to know how they can make the best use of their earnings, as they age.

Should you not have the time or energy to develop these kinds of services, look for "private labeling" opportunities from other large firms with which you can basically use their systems with your business name.

Sure, you can just as easily offer the advertising to those companies, but one of my first lessons in Internet marketing was, "never pass off your customer to another if you can provide the service or product he is looking for."

Create surveys and include them in your newsletter.. offer different types of services and products... find out from your membership what they are looking for.

Good luck on your Internet marketing.
