I have 29,000 emails...

They have checked the opt-in box to allow me to send them special promotions via email.

I want to send them azoogleads offers.

Is it best now to send it from my server? What are ways I can load the email database and mass send them?

    Thanks

If you want to send it from your server, use a tool such as PHPList

if you want to use an email provider, check out Constant Contact

I like Aweber...they take care of blacklisting issues. Also, I've received better delivery rate from them than mailing from my own server.

Will my server administrators get upset that I'm sending these kinds of emails out?

if it causes a heavy server load, possibly
otherwise, you have permission to email them

Yes with Aweber, you need permission to import which sucks, but is okay cause it gets rid of the unresponsive buggers

Check out http://pingadoo.com/forum/ for more info!

make sure you check the specifics of you azoogleads - some ads are not intented to be used through email campaigns and another thing to consider is that the ones that are intended to be emailed out have and optout list that you need to use against your 29K emails ... good luck

    Good luck.

One forward and you're done and you might even be audited.

If your on a shared hosted environment then it is likely that there will be some sort of flood control (e.g. max 100 email recipients per hour per mail).

Check your hosting T&C's to find out.

Yes, some hosting companies allow upto 100-200 emails per hours. You can send them at a delay.

Just thinking, how come you you have a list of 29,000 emails and you never sent any emails before?

    Hence this thread :)

I'm running my own VPS server, so I should be fine as far as terms and conditions go.

I'm having trouble getting PHPlist working. Can someone point me to a tutorial or a better peice of software?

Use aweber, it's an autoresponder. The best for lists. Easy to setup. It's not free but with a list that size (assuming it's well targetted)...
P.S. What;s your list about? (for the suggestion for affiliates part) It's cool if you prefer not to share

Umm I'd guess so. I'm sorry I never had to import lists to them since i use them from the start. But, you know what? They have a GREAT support, talk to them, they might be able to import it for you. They're usually very helpful guys.

    Thanks BasedSolutions...

Guess it would have helped to read the guidelines first. I'll start looking into how to retract my posts...

    My sincere apologies.
