I have 200.000 business emails for sale , is it legal to sell ?? i have name, full address, phone, fax and email . is a database from retail company thanks
Was it legal on how you acquired a company's db of private customer/client info? Does sound odd, retail company normally has consumer info, not business, unless it was some type of business to business company....
I think you should be asking the company whether it is legal to sell their contacts to a third party.
In that case I would say it is definitely not legal to sell. It's not even legal for you to have the list. It's the company's proprietary contact list that you essentially stole. Your friend could probably get fired just for giving you the list.
It is definitely not legal to sell databases of individual's personal & contact informations , even if its from a company. Because whenever companies do have subscription list , they would also have a agreements that says the information will not be sold to any third party or any one for that matter. So its definitely illegal & don't go for it , my personal advice to fellow DP member
If your "Friend" had permission from the company to create a backup of their contacts and "redistribute" it then sure, it would definitely be fine to sell. If he received it under questionable circumstances then I would not even keep it in my possession. Those contacts represent the business's operating secrets. Meaning, this is how they are able to provide effective service to their clients. If everyone knew the source of their good service it could cause them to go out of business especially if that information is passed onto their immediate competitors!
not at all brother as it s breach of privacy of other people and it is immoral too. You can earn lot more from other positive activties
You'd need to look at the privacy policy of the site your getting it from, most sites have a privacy policy that restricts selling personal information to a 3rd party. Also, people can get in trouble for sending to these addresses because you need to opt-in to get mail sent to you, people might get in trouble for spamming.
Well its not correct to sell stuff like that , and I can not judge you if you do, but if you sell it and it comes to a legal problem then it would not be worthy. good luck .
If you sell an email list to someone you know is using it for spam, you might be guilty of conspiracy. If you misrepresent the nature of the list, you might be guilty of fraud or conspiracy. Other countries, such as the United Kingdom, do have privacy laws that apply to selling emails without the permission of the people on the list. Those are the Data Protection Act and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. If someone on your list lives in a country with such a law, you could be in violation of that law by selling lists that contain addresses of people who have not given you permission to send them email.
