that's simple - screw internet marketing, for $100 you can go to downtown [insert major city name here] and rent a billboard for a month. Ok it varies, but I know $50 dollars can get you a semi-ish downtown New York Billboard (not in time square of course) - think of something clever and put it on there.
i woulod submit to all directories as people are giving cheap services here.and submit to thousands of search engines as addme, and some other sites are offering.
you could get 10-20 links on up and coming directories/sites depending on price. I mean a listing on my site only costs $9.99 and that gives your a PR5 or PR4 back link depending on the category
It's funny you mention this, because when I saw this thread revived in my CP, I was thinking to myself, hey--- has anyone every mentioned some "cheap wine and hookers". Then I see this. Funny!
better spend it on beer and stuff than on directory submission services. I won't pay for that crap building link farms.
ok... in what fk'n world do you live in? you better wake up e-bud-e. a billboard will run you a good 20-50k/mo in high traffic and 2-12k/mo for the lesser. what are you considering a 'billboard'; slapping a sticker on your back windowshield and calling it a day? lol
Take a package of 500 directories or more would be good. Where might someone find a package like this?
Yah, http://tagspage.com looks like a good deal. You get 5 incoming links for one year from PR7 and PR6 pages
If U have posted this just to do the pangs n bangs of the members I wud suggest go to a Bar n have a good brand of wine with some good snacks then definitely U wud get the idea what to do of the $100.
If $100 is all you could spend to start of, I would get one of those cheaper templates and ask the person who made the template If he could change it a little (colors and what not) no body wants to pay for a submission in a free template, tell him you will give him a link in home page for a year for the extra work that he does. that will cost you around $30.00 I would then submit my directory to as many free ones I can and when I come across those cheap featured links that allow submission to top levels So say you budget $5.00 for a featured, most of them will be around PR3 to PR4, so you have bought around 15 featured links now, you also have kept on submitting to free ones. Now while your waiting for a PR update get active in a few webmaster forums have your url in the sigs charge a couple of dollars for your submissions. Now after the PR update If you did what had to you should have a pr4 directory now advertise in some forums sell some links for a month, put your price up a little and start on the roller coaster again, but now you have a few dollars to spend so do the exact same but buy higher PR link advertising. Do this for 2 years you should end up with a PR6 your site should be well known by now, you should be starting to make a profit after two years Of course this could be done much faster on a bigger budget but our limit was $100.00 So for those of you that think directory's are a quick $ think again!
If you were another site other than a directory I would look into some targeted PPC advertising, but since you are a directory I would submit to others and try to get as many links as possible. If you're totally new to internet marketing then I would look into taking a good one day class to get a general understanding.
