I Have $100 : What Do I Do With It?

This is more of a hypothetical question than real figures, but kind of is. If you had $100 to advertise your directory in the best way, how would you spend it?

Offer a $100 prize draw to anyone who submits to your directory within the next 30 days?

Personally, If I had $100.00 to spend on advertising, I would first collect the Biggest list of Directories possible, Then find each page category stats that your page could be submitted to's (PR, Backlinks, Traffic, Page Stregnth, etc...). Then purchase as many of these heavy quality directory spots as possible.

If you can get cheap, heavy-traffic, high pr/page strength, "SITE-WIDE" links to your sites you're golden! :)

The more you put in, the more you put out regarding spending money on advertising a directory, especially if you are charging for a listing - because people will pay then to be listed on your site, which in turn you can use that money to pay even better Dir's to get listed with that money.

That's a good one slapmatt. Maybe to ensure you get enough links, instead of 30 days draw the prize after x number of submissions.

I would say buy blog posts on high pr and high traffic related blogs if you find some or take some sitewide links on hight traffic related sites.

I would say get a template from www.allphpld.com hehe but thats off topic

The best thing you could do is buy advertising on high traffic directory lists and webmaster forums.

I actually had the same throught over Xmas, so i decided i'd by just 1 advertising spot on the EntireWeb newsletter which is SEO/webmaster related - it was $110 in the xmas sale if i remember correctly.

My banner for my directory will appear in the 1st Feb newsletter - whether or not its worth it and ill get many submissions from it... well lets just wait and see :) Fingers crossed it turns out to be a good method of directory advertising...

sound good to me too :D

If it were me i would pay a "submission service" to submit my directory
to 500 or more directories. this will get your site some indexing and get you up to speed for the long haul.

I use www.inetzeal.com best in the bizzz trust me on that ;)

    thx

Like malcolm said ,do spend some money on directory submission.
Take a package of 500 directories or more would be good.
