You have to expect that 95% of your viewers will leave your site without buying and that's assuming that you have a phenomenal CTR all the way through the purchasing process.

That being the case, why not get paid for them to leave. Maybe you can get 5-10% of them to click on adsense link, or maybe become an affiliate for a mattress seller, or bedroom furniture.

The point is, try to make every visitor a paying customer. Not every hit has to be a homerun, some of them will be singles.

    Good luck.

    I would.

But I know what it is.

I think that many people would search online for "duvet" or "duvets", because it's hunch that most people who would just call them "bed covers" or something primitive like that, would just go down to Sears and buy something.

You did come up #1 when I searched "duvets Canada" but not when I just typed in "duvets".

    What's your market region?

This brings up a great point of how potentially naturally targeted 'duvet' is as a search term. Since the only people that search for duvet are going to be those, that first off know what it is, and secondly aren't searching for it by accident, it could be a very high converting term. I highly doubt people are accidentally searching for something with duvet in the search phrase. Very targeted market even on the root word. This is a rare situation.

I'm not a master and at the bottom of the rung when it comes to adsense earnings etc., however a top affilate told me if your leary of putting up Adsense sitewide for fear of lossing a possible sale vs a simply $0.30 click, he said to study your logs, see where they are exiting, and place adsense on that page. You've lost them already might as well display something relevant and get a click or two.

I sat back and thought..wow why didn;t I think of that. Needless to say tweaking some of mine and some clients sites just like that reccomendation.

I think anyone searching the word duvets has a good idea what they're looking for, that's an articulate, intelligent, specific word. If you type in the word, duvet, into google there are tons of paid results. You would probly get good money putting adsense on the site. It will be hard to find a specific affiliate program to match up.

My suggestion would be to use MSN's commercial intent tool to tell you which group of keywords people type in to search when they want to "buy" a cover and go after those keywords.

you didn't show keyword that your site got #1 in search engines. keyword must be public and searchable other wise #1 positon is useless. you should show here so we can give you idea.
