I Hate Ypn!!!

Just to warn you, this is a rant.

I have been in the YPN Beta since early September. The results have been okay, nothing to jump up and down about.

Now, my problem is with communicaton and payment.

Not once, has Yahoo sent a check I could cash. They keep insisting on using information which doesn't exist and acting like I am the problem.

Since they don't use email (unlike Google), there is no written record of all the falsehoods they have told me.

I have returned every check they sent me, and all I get from them is "the check is in the mail". If it weren't so important, it'd be comical.

If I had an email of all their lies, I could easily point them out. However, since they use phone contact, it is "he said, she said".

Google may be slow, but they have never lied to me.

To add insult to injury, Yahoo sent yet another check with the same OLD info. What is wrong with these people? How difficult is it to check my information before preparing the check??!!??

If they are this incompetent when it comes to something this simple, imagine what else they are doing wrong.

What info is wrong? All you really need on the check is you or your company's name.

That's the problem. When first signing up, I filled in all the fields and put my website for the company name.

After the first check came with the website name (which I can't deposit), the company name was removed.

Yahoo sent me a FedEx package to return the check and promised to have a replacement sent.

That was almost two months ago!!!

In the meantime, they sent two more checks with the website name!!!

What in the world is their problem???!?? Can't they read their own forms???

Everytime I call customer support, they act like it is the hardest thing in the world to fix this problem. It is almost as if Yahoo billing is in some alternate reality from customer support.

    This is really frustrating.

Have you changed the information in your account to the correct information? I've made address changes which were reflected in the next check.

I've always gotten email responses from YPN by using their contact form, so at least you would have a record of their response.

You could also open a checking or savings account under the business name which would enable you to cash the check immediately.

When singing up, it was the tune YPN didn't like. :p

The information was changed right after the first bad check came. So, they have no excuse for the following two checks.

The contact form sounds like a good idea. I'll try it.

My friends and family have suggested creating a business name, but my state doesn't make it easy. They say it takes about a month (in this day and age, you'd think they never heard of computers).

In the time it takes to get the business account, I thought YPN would have fixed things. Looks like my faith was misplaced.

    Just cash/deposit the checks anyway.

Banks usually never even look at the check details. It's just not cost-effective for them. Certainly can't hurt to try it.

funny I had the same problem... they even sent the first payment to the wrong address listed in my account. I got it straightened out though but I agree it can be frustrating.

A lot of people have suggested this. I am going to try it. It's easier than dealing with Yahoo.

    Shoemoney-

It seems like a few other people have had trouble with payment from YPN.

I don't mind if they are having troubles. It just irritates me when they act like its my fault or like they are too busy to bother with it.

I did notice they now have "direct deposit" in their poll when you login to your account. I am sure they will move in this direction soon.

Tell your bank to make a dba change to your account, it is easy. You want them to go from: Joe Smith, change to: Joe Smith D\B\A mysite.com. This is legal and valid in ALL 50 states. That way you can deposit them checks today.

I went to the bank today to try this. Yet another bank holiday! It occurred to me it must have been Martin Luther King day.

Oh well. This sounds like a good idea, so it will be on my agenda for tomorrow. :)

What type of banks do you people use?
I can deposit any check in the world.
Dont believe me? Send me a check for any amount to Elmer fudd and watch it get cashed.
Just DEPOSIT the check. If you go to those ghetto check cashing places, of course they wont do it.

The only thing why I "hate" Ypn is that I am not able to use it because I am not form USA :(

That should be fixed as YPN improves during the beta period.

Don't feel too badly though, YPN has a lot more to fix before it can compete with AdSense.
