I Hate WordPress's Post Editor

I really enjoy WordPress overall. I am a ASP.Net/MS-SQL person but chose WordPress/MySQL because it is the best solution out there.

However, I HATE the default editor. Even the basic view changes any sort of HTML or JavaScript that I try to post. Is there anything better out there?

I personally use Ecto, but since you're a MS guy [I am too] you may want to check out live writer, developed by Microsoft for use on their live spaces, it is WordPress compatible.

and the price is great = FREE.

I haven't tried it but I'd be curious to see what you think.

It's essential to use an offline editor with WordPress, you'll go crazy if you don't.

Just installed and posted a post, it was nice but Windows Live Writer couldn't get confirmation that the post was published so it is kept as draft in Live Writer even though it successfully published. I may try ecto.

Go ahead and use Windows Live Writer for a very new experience of authoring on a blog. Read the "Complete Guide - Windows Live Writer" available on "Internet Techies" blog.
