I hate the word atheist/atheism.

yes, a lot of people do that. Those people are ones who don't understand the difference. Unfortunately people are not as educated as they could be about the subject.

 

Agnostics are Atheists without cojones.

 

Maybe in some situations that is true, but logically there is a difference that isn't just about having balls. They are strictly basing all of their decisions on evidence, and without evidence cannot have the leap of faith that being atheists have. being an atheist takes less of a leap of faith than being a theist, but they are on the same grounds. Believing in something that cannot be proven.
