There are plenty of people that are successful online. You don't have to be a Google, eBay, or Facebook to be considered successful. There is still plenty of room for money to be made. But hey, if you don't want to participate, i'm fine with that.
Thanks Niche, for basically typing the words that express exactly what I wanted to say. Point is: like in any industry where money can be made, there's a lot of cheap skates, tricksters and scammers wanting in on the pile of gold. And then there are people adding value to other people's lives and getting paid for the effort. And then there's the great mass in between who try both value and tricks. If you don't like the restaurant business, open a laundromat. So to speak.
I don't think that the original poster is complaining just for the sake of complaining, and no one should be told "too bad, if you don't like it just leave." If everyone had that attitude then things would never get better and industries and markets that have been taken over by corruption, bad business practices and other low lifes would never get any better. The internet marketing sector seems to have more than the average number of bad apples. By talking about the problem and exposing the bad apples and scams being made daily things can grow better.
I agree with the first posters general remarks. So many people are doing the same thing. If I see one more pitch offer page I think I will puke. That whole clinkbank thing should be closed down as a public service.
hehe, you make it sound easy. I guess everyone thinks they will be the next Youtube. Sadly that won't happen.
No it's not - it's a chain letter scam, a pyramid scam and there will be too many losers as there aren't enough people for every one to make the stated amount of money. The guy at the top is the only true winner, obviously the founder of the entire scam - what a surprise
Making money online is much like making money in the real world, you have have too work twice as hard to make it and people don't see the effort all they see is the end result.
Agreed, you must have a good reputation if you want to make it big. Especially if you have affiliates.
It really depends on how you market. There are the same old same old methods and there are new methods. Personally I prefer the new methods.
I think focusing on good quality, name-brand or good niche converting affiliate programs, is the way to go as far as a long-term strategy. I have never been a big fan of sales letters or long scrolling offers/sites. I think building niche blogs/site for various affiliate programs like in CJ and Linkshare is the thing to do.
if you are going to sell some good products and do some marketing for good few years then u can earn alot.
There is plenty of money to make. Its just the people that know what they are doing and have a system in place are the ones that make money. You guys have to watch this. Make sure to follow the link and watch the second video. This is why I'm so skeptical on internet marketing gurus. Everyone makes claims about making HUGE amount of money. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSPa00kFtuk&NR=1
You need to find the marketers that You indentify Yourself with. Instead of keep searching for "make money online" on google try to find an Internet Marketer that is closer to your personal tastes, that can teach You how to succeed. But unfortunately, those salesletters that You mention work because they sell the dream. If You don't use the emotional triggers people won't listen to You even if You are a genius and legit. It's about balance I guess. For example, I always like to hear what Frank Kern has to say. You just need to find the guru that represents what You need and then take action, keep going until You get there. Hope this helps!
It depends on what part of internet marketing you are involved in. The part where the big gurus peddle their latest surefire system to make money is becoming annoying, but it works for them so they won't be stopping it any time soon. I have lost count of how many Google Killer type products have been launched just lately. Luckily, not everyone in internet marketing goes down this route and there are plenty more ways to make money outside of the internet marketing niche. I have made more in other niches than there.
