I hate Paypal

I have had issues in the past as a seller having to verify stuff and it was all resolved - slowly and painfully.

I moved last year and I really haven't used the account for anything, but in the new year I upped my marketing and outsourcing budget and most of the freelancers and advertisers I have been paying prefer PayPal.

Wouldn't you know, I send out 200 worth of payments, and I have to verify EVERYTHING again. They call it "suspicious activity" on my card, so now I have to verify my address, my credit card ownership, and tell them what each individual transaction was. It will take up to a week for them to send the physical mailing address confirmation.

I am so frustrated! This looks really bad to the vendors I have contracted with - and I didn't do anything wrong but SPEND money. My credit card company has not called me about the transactions because they are used to my spending patterns. It's a business credit card. Ugh.

A week before any vendors really get paid. What a pain. I feel bad for trusting payPal again.

if you have nothing to worry about why complain? Just get it done and satisfy your vendors. Simple

Its all there for your own protection, just think, if the card was in the wrong hands wouldn't you want that to happen.

I know how you feel though. Its definitely a hassle, however, you do not have to use your paypal account to pay, just use a regular CC and pay. Paypal accepts all major CC's

Yeah, I know I have nothing to worry about. This just happens to be the first time i have outsourced to a freelance writer and I know she needs the money soon! I'm a freelancer too, and I just cringe at the thought of making her wait another week. Plus I really wanted to throw them some more work to them.

I am not sure if I can pay them with the same card that is linked to my PayPal account - and that's the card that's all the business money :-( . One of the companies that I ordered a solo ad from send me an email saying "your money has been refunded, please don't ever buy from us again"

Which makes me think that it looks as if I disputed the transaction or something.

I know, they are just trying to protect me. Bad timing is all

One good practice in a situation like this would be communication, be sure your clients know whats going on.

No matter what, they are the lesser evils compared to the rest of the payment processors and did bring a lot of convenience for us. I too had some issues with them especially their so call protection asking me to verify a 25 cents send to me.

Wrote them an email saying that emails to and forth already cost more than that 25 cents, their reply was it was part of procedure. I might as well give them the 25 cents. They don't seem to realize what is material and what is immaterial but no use arguing with them, had to do what they want.

Other than some little hiccups, I still find the quite good. They are backed by Ebay, safe and sound and won't fly by night, thats the most important.

If the company does not understand the problem after you email then they are not worth using

If paypal wants information dont argue with them. Just do as they say. Its your money and its not worth arguing with them.

They are not the only one who don't understand the problems. I have emailed quite a few of those big companies, most of the time I get canned replies that do not even have the slightest association with my questions.

Paypal support definitely needs to improve, but they are slightly better than the rest, though it takes many emails to get across to them the real issue.

So true. I find that oftentimes when it comes to the internet, you're on your own unless you can afford to wait a week.
