I really love Digital Point, how it's organized, the topics and everything. I am new to this forum, yes. But I hate that most new people that have to get their initial post count done (in order to use signature) and post completely obvious facts, nonsense/spam to get it done. Many posts have the same obvious answer 10 times. It doesn't benefit. It doesn't help. It's annoying. People have to come to the forum like this and understand that if they post some nonsense, they should feel that.... they posted nonsense. If you see that the question was answered once, why repeat the obvious answer? It's ok when it's done 1-2 times, but 5+... Sorry, I just really felt to say that. Does anyone else feel that way? Or is it just me?
I'm just afraid there are too many of them. They are not saying anything wrong many times. But they know the question has been answered correctly already and repeat the answer to get their post count go up.
No need to report all posts in a thread. Just report first post and write there to look for all posts in the thread.
I find this post just as spammy as the ones you complained about. There are many threads on this topic, you could have posted to one of those but instead you thought a whole new thread was needed so you could tell people there is spam in forums. There is another element of your post that is annoying. You are new here and yet you think complaining about spam is something helpful and useful to the forum? This seems just like the very post padding you are complaining about. Do you see any value in this thread to existing members - I don't.
I'm sorry, but this is different. It's a feedback section after all. Secondly, I didn't see any thread (at least on the first page) that talks about the same issue. I'm not talking about spam overall, but the rule that "forces" people to post. Thirdly, while I am new here, I'm not at all new to forums and familiar with multiple forum structures (in terms of rules and what you post). Not a good argument of yours if you want to improve things, not just hear great feedback all the time. May be I didn't phrase it right, but my point to write all of the above was not just to whine about it, but to see if other ppl (primarily Mods) feel that way and are thinking about possibly enforcing rules or explaining that posts should benefit. But I'd say its more deep than just enforcement. Every forum has a "feeling" on what and how you should post. Unless you're a spammer who came with one intention, you're obligated to post useful info in many forums. Not forced, but want to. That's all I tried to submit feedback about. Your allegations are wrong.
I think everyone hates it... you would be amazed at how much of it we are able to delete before you even see it too. It was one of the reasons this forum went 100% no follow... there's no link benefit for users (they are slowly starting to realize this).
Hey, it's awesome to hear from you, Shawn! Kudos for creating this wonderful forum! I'm sure it will get better and better
Everyone except very new members agree to that. And about your opening post, I must add that the new member can not rush towards 10 posts (or how many?) to use signature feature, he has to wait a week too for the same privilege. Which means that he has to complete his first 10 posts in first 7 days. which is 1-2 posts a day, not a reason for spamming I guess.
