I tried with my mobile number it works fine too... try it I am not a genie in maths that's why am impressed by this LOL
I have seen this before. This is amazing really. I was good in maths, used to get full marks everytime. I don't know what happened now.
I was really crap at maths untill my grandad sat down with me and went through all the bits i missed/did not get. After that i ended up getting A* for my maths GCSE. I used to love algebra as well.
Were these two steps really necessary ? can't u just type your number, add 1 and than subtract 1 from it to get your number ?
This is simple: I'm not even of GCSE age and I figured it out. So here goes: X = First 4 numbers Y = Last 4 numbers Step 1: x Step 2: 80x Step 3: 80x + 1 Step 4: 250(80x+1) Step 5: 250(80x+1)+y Step 6: 250(80x+1)+2y Step 7: 250(80x+1)+2y-250 Step 8: (250(80x+1)+2y-250) over 2 So we can simplify this expression: Firstly, remove the +1 in the brackets and the -250. We can do this because before the brackets there is a 250 so 250(+1) - 250 = 0. Therefore we just get rid of both of these. Now we have: (250(80x)+2y) over 2 Now lets expand out the central brackets. 250(80x) means 250 times 80 times x. Let's simplify that by calculating 250 times 8. That gives 20000. So now we have: (20000x + 2y) over 2 So let's get rid of the "over 2" part by dividing by 2. Now we have: 10000x + y. Which means 10000 times the first four numbers in your phone number PLUS the last four numbers in your number. Why 10000? Well, when multiplying by 10, you move the digits one place to the left of the decimal place. and times 10000 is the same as 10 x 10 x 10 x 10, or four places to the left of the decimal place. Notice that it's four places to the left and there are four numbers in the last part of your phone number? Lets move those digits: Now we have ####0000. (#'s mean individual numbers in your phone number.) So now we have ####0000 we can just add the last four digits of your number giving you ########, or your phone number. If you don't understand a certain part, just ask, ill explain further. Ultimatly, it's a very simple calculation overcomplicated over several phases. There are many around, however this is the best example I have seen thus far.
Yepp!! Its simple, you have just to get logics, then its only simple maths. Good job Scoxy.. But well ohhh, tell me, why do I need to do such maths just to know my own Phone no?? I can directly write it down...
This is a simple arithmetical trick. You are just multiplying the first 3 digits of your phone number with 10000 and adding the last 4 digits to it through a series of arithmetical calculations and ultimate result shows your phone number. To understand the trick, just assume that you have only 5 digit phone number (so you have to do calculations with 1 digit only) and the first digit is 1. Now the calculations will be as under: 1 x 80 = 80 80 + 1 = 81 81 x 250 = 20250 20250 + y = 20250 + y where 'y' is last four digits of your ph. No. 20250 + y + y = 20250 + 2y 20250 + 2y -250 = 20000 + 2y (20000 + 2y)/2 = 10000 +y So you are just multiplying the first digit or number in case of 7 or 8 digit phone numbers with 10000 and adding the last four digits to it resulting your phone number. There are many tricks like this. (1) Assume you have 'some' bucks in your pocket, you may assume any number for 'some'. You borrowed from Mr. 'x' the same amount you are having in your pocket. Your mother gave you $10. You donated half of your funds to someone. Then you returned the borrowed money to Mr. 'x'. "Now you have only $5". (2) $1 = 10 cents x 10 cents = $1/10 x $1/10 = $1/100 = 1 cent (There is a mistake in equation)
