I hate it when webmasters in the same niche copy the content from your site. I found a site that copied the text I typed up on my site's footer (sorta like a disclaimer), same exact words, same text placements, you can tell it was mine right when u see it. Except they changed the name to their websites name! And, I got a lil bit more curious, and checked his <meta> codes, and what do you know, they used the same keywords, the same site description! Ugh. I hate people with no originality. Oh well, I can't do anything about it.
If he's copying your content, can't you contact him and ask him to remove it, and if he doesn't comply then contact his hosting company? Either way, your content is copyrighted so he has no right to steal it.
Talk about . I agree 100% Its so annoying that they copy your content, then they refuse to get rid of it and sometime they even claim it was their own work! I hope you can convince him to add a text link.. I wish there was some way to stop this.
Many of these bozos who copy other sites put themselves in the firing squad for Adsense termination since 99% of them use Adsense to monetize their cloned sites. If I were Google, I'd be banning them whole day long. Don't bother with sending them emails, because these bozos know what they are doing, and they know it is illegal. What I'm pissed of with is after they get banned, they run into forums saying Google unfairly terminated them, and pretending to be angels
You should contact the site owner (do a WHOIS to get contact info) and ask them to remove the content. If they don't, you can file a complaint with their Web hosting company. The company may ask you to provide details about the copyright infringement.
Consider yourself lucky. This is only small copyright infringement, but infringement none the less. I'm sure if you put a little bit of pressure on the site owner (either directly or through the hosting company), he will comply.
I agree. However, people with this little of originality probably won't last long on the playing field. Your site will probably long outlive his.
Agreed - that's your long term hope. If you're really that worried about it on the short term, you definitely have some options, though. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it.
