I hate IE....Halp Please?

I am modifying a theme on a site for a friend of mine's church, and it looks fine (outside the color scheme among other things not done yet) in Firefox both in Linux and Windows, but in Internet Explorer the header divs are all messed up, causing color and image issues.

Any chance someone could tell me what I need to do? I've already setup the PNG fix which hasn't helped. I didn't originally create this theme, which explains it's lack of intuitive code (I would've gotten the same look using a minimalistic approach, as little code as possible, with the smallest possible css and images).

Anyway, could someone check this out in IE and Firefox to see the difference and help a guy figure this out?

    The site is newworks.cc

    Thanks.

I may just make the header one big div and try that.

CSS does not format properly in IE, you need to use ajax or something that can detect what the browser is and then display the friendly for IE page if the user is using IE ELSE display the other one
