I think people have unreal expectations and then vent their frustration at the "gurus". If I told you I could show you how to make millions for $47 would you believe me? Probably not. But when someone promises the same thing with a $47 ebook people buy it and then get upset. There are some gems of info in ebooks but at a certain point you have no one to blame but yourself if you keep buying the crap. At the same time, some of those sales pages make ridiculous promises- but after a short while you should be able to spot them easily...
People get ticked at the Gurus for doing simply all they can do. They have reached what many want to. So they share with you their secrets for a price. When you pay that price and then do nothing with the advice they give you, you have no one to blame but yourself. The gurus can lead you to water, but they can not make you drink.
Sometimes it's worth spending money to find out information quicker. Hey, if a Guru can save me a few hours.. why not!
Wow, please someone remove that post ^ On a diff note: I mean an SEO guru can make a really popular keyword #1 for himself because he invests SO much time into it...but realize that the guru doesn't realize that others are looking for a quick fix
Gurus suck I'll put it like this this. Gurus aren't really bad people. Some are pro scammers, but others are giving you a wealth of knowledge. You have to have some concept of internet marketing. Then what the pros are giving you is icing on the cake. It goes like this. Just like every singer, has their unique voice every athlete has their unique athletic swagger/running-style Every dancer has their own twist Every speaker has their own way of words Every internet marketer has their own system and intepretation of how the internet works. You have the find your own system, and find what works for you If you type 15 words a minute, then maybe you shouldn't be a blogger. Either that or you should outsource your blog articles. If you like to video, then maybe you should use youtube as your main source of traffic. Just find what works for you. Focus on one source of traffic. And you'll be profitable. If God blessed you with an incredibly charming voice, then maybe you should try audio marketing Do what works for you
"Guru" simply means "teacher". By extension, a guru is used to refer to a person who has authority because of his or her perceived secular (or religious) knowledge or skills. Due to such knowledge or skills, a guru usually acquires followers. A guru may be known online or off-line, or both. To say you hate gurus is unfortunate. In the first place, hate is a negative emotion, which does not do the "hater" any good. To say that all gurus are the same is incorrect. You cannot truly say that all teachers are the same, just as it would be a bit awkward to say that all doctors or all lawyers or all journalists are the same. Everyone is entitled to earn a living legitimately, and gurus (or those who have useful information to share) are no exception. I wonder if Aslan's definition of "kind guru" is an expert in Internet marketing (or any other field), who is willing to groom and mentor him (or her) for free! There is nothing wrong with selling stuff legitimately. The buyer may be beware, but then, it is not as if the buyer is to forced to buy any product or service at gunpoint! There is a lot of free useful information on the Internet, for example, this forum. However, to get such information one usually has to spend more time searching.
