    Yeah ... a Death Star.

That your avatar is Einstein may be ironic. People like Einstein, people who do their own thing, aren't exactly the best candidates for links until they breakout. Einstein was no people-person, no football player, and he certainly was no politician. He's the sort of bloke who would've gotten good SERPs right away at Yahoo and at Google only AFTER he'd done something that not even the most critical person could deny was great ... which discounts much of his work. Kafka is another good example; he'd have gotten plenty of links, but only after he was dead, because that's when people recognized his talent. If the web had been around when these people were, I guarantee that for a very sad period of time if you "Googled" their names you'd have gotten people talking about them in forums followed by countless keyword traps redirecting you to places to buy German beer mugs and maybe around #210 you'd find the sites the people in question actually created.

Whatever your point is, darth_google, it escapes me.

Are you blaming Google because people are slow to recognize genius, or art, or new ideas? I would suggest that the majority of new ideas in the world of search engines in the past decade have been introduced by Google...

Or are you unhappy because you're having difficulty getting other people to link to your site? Perhaps it's something about your site promotion strategy...

Roger than Huston ... currently tryin to figure out how to be both accurate and concise about how Einstein and Google and our own Google experiences relate.

Hold the phone.... Is it just me cuz I've been SUCKIN' DOWN SATAN'S JUICE ... or is any post related to those thre things GONNA HAFTA BE LONGER THAN SANITY AND MILITIAGAN LAW ALLOW!!?!???

Point being, you may' ve forgotten about this thread but I wanna get some thought down on paper at least for myself anyway and if you have a second Id like your onion on the situation and if not well I understands.

Just why is she laughing at me????? I kill ya!! (Whops--forgot you guys dont know I have a sister, whats worse, one with a significntly higher IQ than yours truly. The only reason I dont sell her to thieves is because "Relativity 280 " made her physically ill to her body in other words "seeing' it gave her motion sickness ... which might just mean shes coming close to gettng it. Hey now ... good lookin chicks are a dime a dozen but good lookin ones, ones who have conquered today's mostly unconquered and very popular version of yesteryears "Im dumb and yes the world is flat!" ... chicks like this, my friend, ARE FRIGGIN KEEPERS!!

Too drunk to no why, young Padwanas, but ... all this "crazy" talk ... wary relevant it seems!!! My own capacity for irony do i not know !! Annoyng when moderately handsom but glasses-wearing geeks talk like Yodo it is!

Having benefited from Google for so long, and now starting a new site and they refusing to index me -- yes, NOW I know how you feel. :)

the site yagoohoogle.com is now twingine.com. It's quite slow as the guy's running it on his home pc. the reason for shifting the site i believe was due to copyright infringments.

yahoo and msn are easier to SEO
    but they provide less traffic

thats the basic reason why everyone runs to get on top for google.

and i was also hit badly for a website of mine last december and we are not even getting the 10 % traffic of what we were getting last year.

so google has become god for traffic.

Yahoo and MSN need to provide the search services as google to get more search queries. Yahoo is improving a lot.

MSN is also aggressive in last couple of months. which i am loving.

Exactly. And when crazy people speak the truth, it's just ... crazy.

Here are two quotes that sum up what I was getting at earlier:

"Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature."

    - Tom Robbins

"Google has made success on the web almost entirely political; your rankings are based on how well you're able to sell the combination of yourself and your site, sometimes just yourself. What do politicians and salesmen have in common? They all dress alike ... and neither group is rewarded for telling the truth or for being "too" interesting. In our experience, web politics is pretty much the same deal."

    - Michael Jackson's web consultant, in response to why Michael's own site ranks 4,667,455 at Google for an exact-phrase Michael Jackson search.

    Okay then.

Is that Earth time or DMOZ time? DMOZ time is much slower than Earth time, and thus ... a paradox. As we know, clocks move more slowly when they're closer to large gravitational objects ... so you'd think DMOZ time would flow more quickly, judging by the majority of comments I've read that suggest their heads are in outer space.

Although ... an alternate theory of the location of their heads might account for this.

If that was a come back, its a bit late... You can't come back after what like two weeks? Maybe a day or two, possibly three, but not 12+.

    Don't know anything about that.

Well, maybe the fact that I only updated my old site listings with my new site is the reason, but they only took 3 days to update my main page, and then about a week to update another 7 links in other categories (not my submission, they listed me themselves a while back). Also, their search engine updated my new listing in about a week and a half.

Not that it's helped me with Google. They still refuse to index my new site. Heck, they still haven't listed any viable backlinks to me, and I established those from PR5-and-up sites almost a month ago.

I have to give some credence to what has been said about google in terms of power. I like google, they send me most of my traffic, but It worries me that they could become an online "microsoft" able to do what they wish.

If google has ultimate power, and they screw you, you really are screwed. But all in all, I think google is doing a good job.

I think that's the whole point -- Google is great, until they refuse to index/sandbox you. :p
