I have made the decision to turn off new registrations of several of my phpBB forums because they are constantly getting a barage of spam. These are less active forums, but have been in existence for a couple of years. I'm going to just make a statement here. I think it is unethical to: 1) Go around registering on forums you don't plan to participate in just so you can get a link from the userlist (I have solved this one) 2) Automated posting on multiple forums at once This is pathetic behavior, and if you are involved in it, you should be ashamed of yourself.
I personally do register at forums DP members announce if I think they might be going places. But they don't always end up being good forum, which I want to participate in. Yes, it is unethical to sign up at forum for the sole purpose of getting your sites spidered. I believe that inactive members should be deleted period.
same here, i have issues with members join in using softwares makin couple of crap posts and escaping. just image verification is something which is saving the forum a bit, without that life would have been worst
Before I delete the folder, I need to share this with you guys. This is what happens when you put up a forum and forget about it: http://www.frogengine.net/latest/viewforum.php?f=1&sid=6df1442b4a932797b974d13ac5b63f8b OUCH
