I hate adwords becouse it sucks. It sucks becouse they fool you to pay 0.10$ and then you have to raise it to 0.50$ or keep your account inactive. I tried with raising quality and such things but that don't work. Now I'm totally pissed off.

Anyone more that don't like adwords?

Might have to increase your budget for those keywords. .50 isn't that much if your service has a return on it...

Hmmmm, I've been using Adwords since day one and have never had any problems.

    What exactly did you do?

I generally ignore any keywords where they try to get me to raise them too high. There's enough available keywords for 5 cents, that I can get a few extra hits every day for next to nothing.

Also, I've learnt that Google has a behavioral component. That is, if you set your campaign CPC to 50 cents, then it'll start asking you to raise your bids to $1 or more. If you set your campaign CPC to 1 cent, then it'll start asking you to raise your bids to 5 cents and 10 cents. There's lots going on under the hood that is generally not understood.

    Read this for more details.

Did you add these keywords in seperate ad groups or all in the same? I'm thinking if you divide them into several ad groups it will work out better for you. I will run a test and divide my keywords into several ad groups.

There should be no hatred. Rather u should be able to use the google system in your benefit. We all are very very tiny compared to google and when such a big giant creates something, then rather complaining, v should find out how it can bring us some dollars.

I m handling campaigns for my clients and most of them are website companies who hired me (or rather outsourced their work to me). This was simply because, I was economical (only 50 bucks a week), dedicated and trustworthy. Moreover, I was able to dig keywords upto 2000 for most of campaigns. And this depth of keywords, get me and my clients lots of positive response from google adwords.

So in my opinion, better try again and u can also make some cool money.

    regards

    Sam

I had a $50 coupon I got with my webhosting, when I used it I couldn't start a campaign because it was my first adwords account and they immediately subtract $5.

So basically I have to invest another $50 of my own pocket to start a campaign?

Adwords is hard work and you have to put in the time. Don't worry about bidding to #1, 4 or 5 works fine with well written ads. I changed my display url from www.fastpcnet.net to www.FastPCNet.net and saw double the click through. Also make sure you have a good landing page that is right to the point. I've had success with this computer service page. Think priority of read! Perry Marshal has a good course worth the $97. I put the mp3's on my ipod and listened in the car. It really helped my business get off the ground, but you have to put in the time and take it seriously.

There's nothing illegal with using capital letters in your URL. As long as the URL resolves to the site your link points to, I've never had a problem.

They would probably not let you have ALL CAPS, but capitalizing the first letter of each word is acceptable.

ok.. so.. putting capital letters in the title will help. I didn't do that mostly because I thought that the users would be irritated

    Hello,

I use adwords for my site - www.beingseen.com.

keywords are up to 70 cents per click about 500 per month.

I would love to reduce this but there seems to be only one great keyword for my business

    electroluminescent.

I tried lowering my max bid to keep me in 3rd place and I lost about 20% of my traffic per month.

I guess I am stuck with it.

    Ed
    Thanks

Have you used the keyword tool to find more words/phrases? I don't know your business but entered your keyword in the keyword tool and it kicked back this list:

    electroluminescent wire
    electroluminescent lighting
    electroluminescent light
    electroluminescent panel
    electroluminescent sheet
    electroluminescent gauges
    electroluminescent saber
    electroluminescent tape
    electroluminescent panels
    electroluminescent display
    electroluminescent lamp
    organic electroluminescent
    buy electroluminescent
    electroluminescent displays
    electroluminescent sheets
