I guess Cuil vs. Google was all hype?

Does anyone get traffic from Cuil? Unless Google Analytics doesn't return it as a traffic source none of the sites I manage get ANY traffic from it!

How about you? Do you get comparable traffic from Cuil? Was it all hype and destine for a slow demise?

    Discuss.

Is anyone surprised by this? Obviously Cuil was never going to seriously compete with Google...

You got the url wrong there mate.
you checked for "cuill.com" instead of "cuil.com" although it shows the same page but it only served as mirror.

This is the right stats. Still, pretty much lame.

Na nothing....it was just a media hype about them.......they couldn't deliver it (i wonder if any other site would receive this much attention from media, they could make loads of money and returning traffic as well)

Nice little image there (which says Cuil fails) :)
yes off course algorithm and quality of search results you get from search engine as a user are more important than size of search DB

When I first heard the Cuil hype I tried Cuil to search for stuff. Sadly the results it provided me were not what I was looking for. I hated the layoutand feel to it. Too Many results in sight to be able to sort them.

I read somewhere that there was a study carried out that showed that humans can only filter between 3 and 7 options depending on the person's capacity but generally we only want a few choice to choose from. Traditional search engines show you a few and then you have to scroll down to see any more, I think this is more natural than having most of them displayed on the same page and having to look at them. In any case, Yahoo and Msn seem much better than cuil to me.

Another example of news hype. Google isn't excemp from failures though (Chrome... cough...)

Of course it was a hype. Cuil can never beat Google. Cuil crashed because of the Digg-effect. That could never happen to Google. I've never seen Google.com down. Ever.

    Cuil ..

"It will kill Google" This was just a marketing stunt to create hype.
Google is not only a SE. It is group of services and it not easy to kill it ( even Y! and MS can't do this )

    Hello...

Unfortunately Cuil is dead now as it was a flop the start :(
    all those wasted millions...

If i had to choose a new SE it would be http://searchme.com/ as it blows away googles text link nav

i dont like clicking on the wrong pages and wasting time and as can be seen here http://www.searchme.com/#/&q=SEO forums/
    SEARCH ME eliminates that problem
