There is no match of Windows 7 & XP, XP does not offer many many features which 7 has, specially Aero feature. U can match it with Vista which was a flop from Microsoft.

Exactly the same. I'm still on XP - and HATE Vista (have it on a few laptops, and dislike the fact I have to confirm EVERYTHING seven times).

    I'm NOT an idiot, Bill.

You can turn that off so it doesn't keep asking you.

    1: Go to system configuration
    2: Select tools tab
    3: Disable UAC
    4: Reboot

Try that if you haven't already.

Adding to this story, after installing Win7. I just tried into Xp (dual boot mode), came to know how slowly xp works and shutdown, startup time was lot more.

Yes you read that correctly !

Got this site from freebies, you can convert your Win 7 laptop into a wifi hotspot and there by your friends can access your internet connection (security pass option is there)

I don't want to write stories, go and download from here

    http://connectify.me/

It works only with Windows 7 and not with Xp or Vista.

    Win7 Rocks !!!

Pelase read correctly. He is asking about Upgrade and not about dual boot.

Microsoft says you have to do a clean install from XP and a upgrade is possible from Vista.

So, you can't upgrade from XP.

I just installed a test version of Windows 7, and I have to ask, is there any difference to vista?. I don't think so. I ll stay with Linux! Ubuntu 9.10 just released today and it rocks!
