    By mentioning the bad rep left you, you have already let the member know the rep he/she left you had desired effect. The best thing to do when getting bad rep is to ignore it.

    Its been 2 years since he left me bad rep so i guess he wont know who I am :p
    Anyways, since its not shown in public, I'll just ignore it.
