I got to Number 1 Spot, Thanks Guys

Hi all,
mainly due to articles in this forum and others, my long battle to bring Garethherbert.com to number 1 spot when you search Gareth Herbert has now been achieved. It was a long, hard battle, faring against the likes of BBC Motion Gallery, English Table Tennis Association and others. Thanks for allowing me to do this.

 

Actually, you are no. 1, no. 2., and no. 3 on Google. That's one big "ranking greed" . Be nice let those guys behind you have at least a little bit of hope ....

- load up (then u get a menu)
- then more loading (with a table tennis table)

Im not sure it was smart to post that. With so few links (Your link popularity at marketleap.com is 72) someone could easily toss you from the front page by putting up a Gareth Herbert page for kicks and throwing a weight of a couple thousand at it.

People are stupid about those kinds of things.

I think this thread may also outrank you for Gareth Herbert in a few days which will be another thing to deal with.

 

Most likely ... DP threads have rankings such as 1st page Atlanta Realtor http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=atlanta+realtor

 

And Atlanta Realtor is signifigantly more competetive than Gareth Herbert although still not considered above easy

 

Its already started..This thread ranks #5 for Gareth Herbert on Yahoo. Google hasn't indexed it yet though:

hmmm ... I saw it page 1 Google on one of the algos they are switching back and forth from. I think the Atlanto Realtor thing is mostly because of the real estate filter. My sitetutor site ranks for real estate related terms instead of my real estate forum ... real estate related results are actually very easy for web sites that have been around for a while in Google.

Just coming to think of it.

Las Vegas real estate or Las Vegas homes is kinda tough IMHO.

One of the Las Vegas real estate sites was one year old in January, but did not go live until mid April 2004.

hmmm ... I shoulda made sitetutor a real estate site but then again, I believe Google may soon make some changes for the better

 

There is always room for improvement, and with the 3 Major SE battling it out for the top spot, I bet we see a lot of changes this year.
