I got PR 4 by just 1 link from PR3 Blog.. But How ?

Hi DP ,

I have a Web 2.0 tech blog that have average visitors around 100 / day. It is feeded by Adobe MXNA. The domain age is 5 months and no PR few days ago.

I also have another blog where I post some cine images and review about cinema. Actually I didn't bookmark it and no linksfrom any other sites. I add a link to cine blog from my Web 2.0 blog.

I checked PR two days ago. I shocked. Web 2.0 main blog is PR 3 with some inner pages PR5 and cine blog is PR 4.

Actually nothing worth in cine blog and no linkpopularity,ess traffic etc ... but the main page comes PR 4 .

How it came ?
Any idea...

 

Perhaps PR needs to be fixed, or someone backlinked to you, and that person has somewhat high authority.

 

Most probably your content got linked by many.
Have you installed google analytics?
You can monitor the traffic sources and etc from there.

My guess is that your pages are well linked by others especially those with high PR.

 

I could be wrong but I heard Google does weird things with new websites PR. Did you use a backlink checker to make sure nobody else is linking to you.? I've gotten some free sitewide PR5 links before... it happens.

 

I hope my pr is 4....

 

Can you give us Blog url to analyze.

 

The anchor text you used to linked from other site is the domain name ?
