I have close to 1100 posts, why would I need to do this "Run Up Post Count/Post Has No Value"

    This is a noob thing.

I didn't think i did anything wrong. Ya its not my finest post. But i feel a tad harsh.

    But maybe im overreacting?

    Email I got..

    Dear bloodwrath,

You have received an infraction at Digital Point Forums.

Reason: Running Up Post Count/Post Has No Value
    -------
Padding post count with "Nice work."
    -------

This infraction is worth 1 point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

Take it on the chin and don't worry too much. To my annoyance I just got one for thread hijacking - my perfect zero down the drain!
Infractions mean diddly squat - just try not to get any more!

I think maybe someone probably recently became a mod and they are flexing their digital muscles a bit. I think that congratulating someone for doing a good job after they change something shouldn't be an infractable offense, c'mon now. I also got an infraction today, and even though technically there might have been enough reason, it was definitely borderline.

I have 7 infractions right now, and i have 3 expired. Total of 10.

Don't worry about it, just don't get 10 at the same time or your screwed (banned).

It was yellow you mean? I'd like to know how you get those - where the boundary is between yellow and red?

It is because your new, and the moderators assume you have not yet learned or adapted to the forum rules 100% yet.

You mean 10 points though, not 10 infractions. Some carry more points than others, like when you tell someone that you're sorry for fighting with them, and that you shouldn't be picking on mentally disabled people, and as it turns out the mods actually do think the other person is really mentally disabled... that kind of thing.

I think it might just have been a warning. It was a yellow yes, when I posted the message I didn't think about it looking as if I run up my post count, but I guess I know not to put useless messages when they are not needed.

I have a buddy who is getting infractions for bumping threads that he is selling stuff on. He is simply replying to people on the thread. I told him to just start pm'ing people back that have questions

I do think the mods are a little "nazi" with some of the infractions. I got infractions for replying to my own thread letting people know I approved their sites in my directory.

Ah, I still remember my first and only infraction that I received. The reason is just as same as yours. It still doesn't end(the date says July 21st). True enough, it shock me at first. I don't really understand what happen and I'm new at this forum. But then I take it easy and continue posting. Life isn't over yet! You should do the same too.

That's the point. That type of reply just clutters up threads with posts that mean zero to the thread surfers. Just PM the people rather than inform the whole membership.

I got a warning some time back for similar posts, and it got me to rethinking things: Is my post something that adds to the thread, or just clutters it up with words that mean very little to the thread readers? That warning changed my outlook on posting.

Shrug it off, make the necessary changes, and roll on in this great forum.

It seems that sometimes the mods here are infraction happy. You just got to deal with it & move on.
