I got my fake story to the front page of digg

And it crashed my forum ;(

Actually it crashed my whole host, their main site is down too.

Im shocked it actually got there. It's kinda funny anyway, some of those people are flamming me left and right.

 

So, all digg users hate you, your forum has crashed, your whole host has crashed, was it even worth it?

 

I found it rather humorous so yes I suppose. I've already received a few links from it anyway.

Its strange I just did this on a larf. I didn't even have people help me digg it.

 

Lesson #1: DON'T get your page to the front of Digg when on a shared server. It's a nice way to get the host to delete your account!!!

I'm on a dedicated server and even there, using an extremely optimized page, aka no mySQL, my server crashed once!

Oh how I wish that was a true story, as you can tell by my username!!!

Unless it's on the mediatemple grid servers. I heard that those can actually withstand digg, slow down yes, but not crash.

 

Yah I didn't realize it would do that, well never imagined it would goto the front page either... I hope I don't get deleted.

I didn't get it!...what was in your story about? that it is now removed,
and crashed evevn your host?!

 

This thread is like 8 months old and the person who posted it hasn't logged in for about 3 weeks.

Anyway, he made a fake story saying that a large amount of PS3s had been recalled. This was 3 days or so after the PS3 was released.

 

you should have made yourself a page on blogspot to test this!

 

Yah... That would be a great experiment, just tell us how it goes.
