I would imagine that once Google discovered it the family member would also be banned and any moneys earned would be withheld.

I got banned too. It was my mistake, I hadnt completed reading TOS before clicking on few of my own links. Then I came to know about it and started praying.:) But after 20days, I was banned from adsense.

Anyways life goes on. So no worries. Will work harder and be more intelligent from now on.

    Good!

Anyone who needs to read the TOS in order to realize that you shouldn't steal from advertisers doesn't deserve to be using Adsense anyway.

Its amazing that people have no clue where the money for those ads come from. Like they are being paid out of thin air. Advertisers lose money because people think - hey, I'll click a few ads. They have no clue how tight many advertisers budgets are, especially with PPC costs that are skyrocketing.

Well, you acknowledge your mistake and that's a good thing.

Y! has started sending out invites to it's new Publisher Network, so soon you'll have the opportunity to redeem yourself.

You know I was trying to scroll with my middle button accidentally near one of my own ads and really did click one of the ads with the left button by accident and was immediately scared s***less.. but I checked and the click count went up but no moneys were accrued because of it.. Hopefully since they know it was my IP and discredited it anyway I'll be okay -- and don't believe me if you don't want to, it really was an accident. Surely someone out there can relate.

daed, I am pretty sure that nobody has been banned for clicking on one of their own ads one time.

I've done it several times, and even contacted them. I think that if for some reason I piss em off, they'll just use the old "invalid clicks" reason to ban because I have accidentally done it.....that's my fear anyway. That damn middle scroll button seems to activate ads.

One thing that also scares me is that today alone one person clicked 5 of my ads. I just hope G doesn't think I know this person.

So, if you have done it several times, then you have not clicked your ad only once right? :)

This is silly. The point is simple. Think before you do. You know you are getting paid when you click on the ads. The money isn't coming from the money tree. Use common sense. Geez

You are right that is the fear and hysteria created by some of the posts here and elsewhere. People lead you to believe that they only possible way they could have been banned was accidently clicking on their site one time and Google was out to get them.

Realize that is not likely what is happening and people have their own reasons for portraying themselves as they do.
