I got banned from Dreamhost for spamming and now they refuse to give me my domains

Dreamhost banned my account for allegedly spamming.
I tried to explaine them that they are wrong but i got the same laconic answare that my account is disabled.

I can change my hosting but i registered 12 domains with their company and now they won't let me access those domains. How can i transfer them to another company?:

Only a spammer who is an idiot would register his domain names with the hosting company he is planning to use for spamming.

I am not saying you are a spammer, I have no proof of that, but if you were, you would have been a real idiot spammer. The same way, if you were a spammer I would admire Dreamhost policy on spammers, I hope they also report them to the FBI if they are in the US.

I highly doubt you can do anything, it probably says on their terms and conditions. If they believe you are a spammer then kiss goodbye to your domains.

If they don't want to release your domains that you registered to THEM, then open a case with the BBB. That's if you have a DECENT reason to why they're not giving you your domains.

Yes Dreamhost are well known for deleting peoples hosting accounts and holding their files or domains hostage.

Although I don't like spamming it is unfair for them to delete accounts because they presume the account holder is doing it. Often they get hacked and the sites are used without the owner knowing.

Also Dreamhost have their own software and that is one reason why it often is the target of hackers.

I have read of many horror stories of people losing years of work as some Dreamhost employee decides to delete the persons account and not give them their files or backup of sites to them but people still use them so I guess this is what happens when you don't research the hosting company first.

As far as I know, (don't quote me on that though), a registrar has no legal reason to hold your domain name(s) unless you've broken ICANN rules. If that's not the case then your best bet would be filing a complaint with ICANN. The hosting account / files on the other hand is entirely up to the hosting provider. If they don't want to give you your files then they don't need to (given that it's in accordance to their TOS, which it most certainly is).

Have you asked them for logs that proves you account was spamming?

    Ask them to provide logs.

If you paid for the domains they are yours, you can open up a more tickets with them contact the BBB or even get in contact with ICANN and tell them they are holding your domains hostage.

Unlimited disk space and bandwidth is mainly for marketing, but people should realize you can't literally have unlimited disk space to use as you please for $100/yr. It's not fair for your website to take more than your fair share of the resources of the shared servers. Yes, if you have a major spike in UV's, you will be banned. SHARED hosting for $100 a year is for personal sites and small businesses. Shared hosting is not for a website that sees 5000+ UV/mo. If you are getting traffic of these numbers, you have no reason to be making enough money to invest in a decent hosting plan. You get what you pay for!

This should never happen, Dreamhost has a 1 click account backup which you can download to your own computer.
Who leaves their entire project online with no backup? There are all kinds of things that can go wrong besides getting shut down for spam.

Dreamhost has been pretty good to me with about 99% uptime.
Ive been with them for three years with dozens of sites running off of one shared hosting account.

One lesson I learned a log time ago from yahoo hosting a 1&1 was never buy hosting and register your domains with the same company, bad bad idea.
