I got an infraction which I dont deserve

Yesterday I created this thread about Dave's Cool Little Site. In that thread I mentioned the URL as

http://www.dealspotter.net/clickbank.php

Now I have an infraction saying I posted an affiliate link. But thats not true. It is not an affiliate link. I got it just like that from Google. Search "dave's cool little website" in Google and you will get the same link.

Mods, please remove the infraction.

It looks like Google is returning an affiliate link in their SERPs, probably because they entered the site on a crawl from another page that used the affiliate URL in the link. Whether or not you intended to, it does look like your post contained and affiliate link. In the future, simply strip the '?hop' querystring in your post and you should be fine.

 

Never thought Google will affiliate a product. I just gave an "I am feeling lucky" and took the URL of the page where I landed.

An infraction isn't the end of the world...Its only to alert members if they did something that was against the rules. Now you know so you don't have to worry about doing it again.

I think the reaction you are getting is more about you starting a new thread to complain, not the original infraction.

Any page that scrolls 2 miles, has a fixed width centred lay-out and shows some cheesy book covers throughout and an affiliate link at the bottom is spam. So... You choose

I went through every section of the forum and thought this is the suitable place to ask questions. I had to clarify my doubt some how. If the CP said which mod gave me the infraction, I wud have send a PM directly to him. But since forum doesnt reveal that, I had no choice but to post in the suitable forum.

 

Oh! So thats how it became a Spam. Now things are clear.

I only wanted to know more about dave's package and thought some URL which gives an intro to the scheme would only help.
