    Hi,
A long back I verified my PP account with a VCC I do not remember the exact time but I think it's been six months ....couple of minutes ago I received an email from pay pal now I am confused coz. in the Pay Pal account it is showing me as a verified person but on the other hand sending out an email to add the cared again..

Plz. suggest - Do I have to purchase another VCC again?

Don't click any links in that email. They might steal your cc# and username/password.

Anything sent to you from "Paypal" to your email address is a scam. Just quickly discard of it.

Thx. mate for suggestion...I would like to tell that I do receive an email at every transaction to my hotmail ID as I have put it there...whenever I send payments, receive payments, or send an Invoice to anyone, or just any activity I do in Pay Pal for that I receive an email confirmation...So this mail seems no Scam..
Now the question is If this mail is not a scam then why I received it...
My Account is still verified (in the status) What if I add a new VCC there will it create some other problem..I am really very confused..:( what to do..I am afraid if I add a new VCC then there might be some other problem..Any one out there faced the same problem please share your experience ...

My bad, yes I understand that Paypal requires you to suggest an email for all of your transaction activity. However, I thought this email sent to you was just "out of the blue". One of the obvious phishing tactics that are out there.

Normally you don´t need to add a new VCC. Your account will stay verified even without adding a new card. It´s only you can´t send payments through CC because the (V)CC has expired. Adding a new (V)CC will only enable you again to send payments through your CC (if there is balance in the card). The account will stay verified because it was once verified and doesn´t need to become a second time.

    regards

It is true that there are phishing email which are not from Paypal but any email from Paypal will have your full name in it and the email is sent to your paypal email address and if you check the header, it should come from Paypal server.

As the OP had the email with his name, it is definitely from Paypal. Phishing sites would come with something like 'Dear Members' or the likes and not your full name.

Its 95% a scam. Just forward it to and you'll get a quick reply telling you the true nature.

Well bro, this is not a scam.
Open your paypal account and try to send a payment to someone.
You won't be able to send payments.

Now buy a VCC or a CC and add it to your account.
As you are already verified, you just need to enter the Card details.
You won't have to go through the expanded usage program once again.

After you have added the VCC/CC -- you would again be able to send payments.

    Hope this helps.

It ain't scam. Paypal does send out emails like that. The logic is very simple. Your previous VCC expired so you need to add another non-expired CC or VCC.

And dont be afraid to click a paypal link on an email. Just be 100% sure though that the actual link you're clicking starts with http://www.paypal.com.

Agreed. Just check it. You need to add another card only if you are not able to send payment. However there are few websites like godaddy which always need to have a CC/VCC with your PayPal even though it is verified.
