I got a spam mail today telling me to stop using google

    I've seen a few of these, I think they pay a percentage of the adsense for search (or alternative) revenue that each search generates to charity. One of them got a mention on the BBC tech news website.

    Some do actually pay but it's not worth the time as you get very little.
    This example is obvious spam/scam though.
