Hi all. I was just looking thru the sites which sent me traffic. Surprisingly, in my google analytics for www.linkspub.com I saw this for my site google.com[referral] This was seperate from google organic searches. Anybody know if this is good, bad or nothing? thx
Of course it's good. The more traffic from search engine, the better. But why the referral showed as google.com, not the google search result page links?
Its really good if you are getting referral from search engine like Google. It will help you get backlinks ( get a good PR ) and will get you more traffic @hhheng The referral must have shown Google.com on the pie chart diagram
Why it didn't show as organic? I don't know, my google organics were up on the list cause I get a few from them daily This was just 1 visit. Maybe, maybe, they got me on some list and are visually checking to see if my site isn't doing any of the stuff search engines don't like eg, like cloaking, link selling, hidden text, stuff like that. If so, hopefully it is all clear.
It's awful! Email google immediately and tell them to stop sending you visitors. The horror of it all!
i get a lot of hits counted as google.com referrals. I always thought they r from search engine...aint they?
if vistors coming from Google are not from search then how they are coming! where's the link placed????
getting visitors from google is of course good but how many visitors did you get from the google ? if you get one visitor , it's not good . if you get 10.000 visitors , it's perfect
Almost all stat programs will report referrals in correctly at times. My guess would be that someone was on Google and then just typed in your site's address or pulled it from a bookmark in their favorites. Your stats program just incorrectly labled it.
actually i need this answer too but there is not satisfactory answer in this thread ... i just got one visit from google (referral) and from organic search i got 32 visits par day so wht will be the best one and wht is the diff between both...?
Well, the answer was above, well, part of it. The truth is that it will sometimes show differently in some circumstances. Sometimes it just simply appear bad while in others it does have an explanation. You do not have a link on google.com. It is also not a problem. In most situations we are talking about someone that came to your site after just opening their browser. if their main page (homepage) is google.com and then they hit a bookmark towards your site or simply type it in there is a chance that google.com will appear as the referral. Also, sometimes searches will also appear just as google.com in the referral section. There is no problem with this.
wow.......It is very good news that your website are getting organic traffic from Google.com. Keep it up and do the effective Social Media Optimization for your site popularity across the globe.
