    Hi friends,

I bought a new domain and hosted it on hostgator under the add-on domain section. Now I want to make this new domain site as a wordpress site.

Can anyone help to me and let me know, how to do it?

    Thanks.

    1. Purchase a webhosting plan
    2. Update your nameservers
    3. Upload WP in your site or use fantastico/softaculous to install it
    4. Create a database and run the installation script (skip if you used auto-installers)

You should be able to install WP right from your cPanel under applications.

The simplest way is to use Fantastico (automatic installer application)
Or, you can download wordpress to your pc first and then upload it to your hosting afterwards
follow the installation instructions given in the read me file and you will be fine

one advice for you, always and i say always make sure you update wordpress when a new version comes out or else your files will be hacked and your site will be attacked.

Yes. 3.1 is the latest. fortunately you will get a message when you log in to the admin side of your wordpress blog letting you know if there is an update. all you need to do is click the "update now" button and it is done automatically. should take only a minute to do so.
