I got 6 points worth of infractions for exposing a scammer

A DP member stole $310 from me.

I informed DP about it but they refused to do anything about it.

I've been told that DP community basically polices itself by using iTrader and search, so I decided to do my part. In few threads where the scammer tried to pull another scam I posted a message which basically says "He is a scammer. Be carefull if you are sending him money in advance. This is the thread where he stole money from me..."

And I got 2 point infractions for each of those threads with the explanation "Attacking/Harassing Other Members"

Is that correct? What did I do wrong? Is it not allowed to warn other DP members about a scammer? How else to deal with scammers?

Threads for which I got infractions are:

Update. I just got 2 more points infraction and it doesn't even specify a post. It just says "Private" and 2 points infraction for "Attacking/Harassing Other Members".

No, I did not send any nasty private messages directly to the scammer.

So I guess when I receive the next unjustified and unexplained 2 points I will be getting banned for harrasing a scammer by mentioning that he is a scammer.

After all, it is easier to ban critics than to actually deal with scam. Let's just make it appear like there is no scam here...

You could have left a -ve iTrader feedback for that person.. but you cannot bash his sales thread or any of "his" threads (that falls under attacking/harrassing other members).

"Private" - means that the post which got you the infraction has been deleted.

The best way to handle this I suppose is to start your own thread saying "Watch out for this scammer" or "I got scammed by DP Member". You can't jump in on other's threads like that. Before you know it you will have 10 infractions and we will not see you for 3-4 months.

Cop it. Learn from it. It's the rules here.
    Hope this helps

    Thanks for the explanation.

Well, that's what I understood as "self-policing", but I guess there is some sense in not allowing to just throwing accusations into sales threads. It would probably be used to bash legitimate sales as well

It's just disappointing that there is no way to deal with scammers and DP doesn't offer any help with that.

alang: you really got an infraction for that? He admited that it's not developed by him and he thanked you for mentioning that what he just conveniently "forgot" to mention. The way I read it, even the scammer was grateful to you that you clarified his sale :)

BTW, it's "him" and not "her"

Alis, I know that exposing your lies herewill get me banned, but I will do it anyway.

You did not send me anything. Problem is not a delay but the fact that you stole $310 from me and haven't delivered anything and haven't refunded any money.

I did report you to DP 6 months ago but they told me that they cannot do anything and that I should sort it out with you.

You are not allowed to chase members and ruin their reputation by calling them a scammer just because you had a bad experience.

Since this is going off-topic, please refer to the FAQ.
