I got $50/week to spend on marketing.

So I am pretty new to this 'online scene'. I work a part-time job, I will dedicate half of my income from there into marketing for my websites.

So what would you suggest spending $50 dollar a week on. AdWords? Paid Backlinks?

Paid backlinks is not a bad idea...

As 50$ is for every week u can get a nice number of paid backlinks for that

Try getting some high traffic quality backlinks which are relavent to your site, you'll get some pr but you'll also get a nice bit of traffic with luck.

 

Help him with marketing and he'll give you a share of any profits, I think.

 

It all depends on what kind of site do you want to run and how do you want to make money?

 

Consider submitting to quality directories, adwords are an option but must be focused to ensure you get a cost per action conversion

There you can choose who you want to advertise with and for how long. 50 a week will get you ad space on some high traffic sites. You can choose advertisers by category so you get targeted visitors and dont waste your money. I have used thsi service for about two months now and only good things to say so far.

Just go PPC way. For $50, try to get 500 visitors.

 

Wow guys, great advice so far. I guess PPC would be good way to go. And yea I meant I share my profit with you for help with marketing in return, that is what I meant by mentor. My site? At the moment I run www.creme-dela-deviant.net, that is just a hobby for now, since I am a deviantArt fan. You need Firefox to view it properly cause its almost 100% CSS. My other project atm include a podcast directory (with a twist) and trying to get onto the whole MySpace thing, don't know whether I am too late.

if you are looking for real traffic try ppc if you want to focus your sites on pr and links than go buying links and directory links

 

with $50 a week, you will get a good return of investment if you hire a good content writer. You will have more free time for your hobbies then.

You have a very nice site, with very good nitch content.

I would work on optimizing your site for the search engines. I would get as many good relevent links as possible, I would also get some quality directory links.

Keep the content comming, and try to do some peices on the most popular artists so you will have some searchers ending up at your site.

Don't know if you are talking to me or to the thread writer. Just one thing if you where referring to me.

I do not hire people to add content, i do it myself as i am studying management, so it is a further motivation to study.

Anyway, i only suggested that if he does not have time, because to add quality content you need time.

 

I would also have to agree to buy some paid links as well as paid featured listing in web directories. And content writing is a real good idea as well. You can also hire someone to submit your sites to web directories.

I agree, and I pay writers for content for some of my sites! I just feel OP has the proven ability to write quality content and should continue to do that part.

 

How do you get 250 dollar worth of adwords for 40? I am interested in this. And thanks rest of you guys for your response. I prefer to do my own interview as I love art, so paid-writers are not needed. Beside, I got a few friends who enjoy dA and is helping out too.

 

Pay for content and drive natural traffic to your website. Make sure you build pages that convert well.
